More glass after rebuilds
New construction often has much more glass than the home it replaced. Film controls the extra heat.

Davis Islands at a glance
H2O Window Tinting installs residential window film on Davis Islands in Tampa — 1920s Mediterranean Revival homes, waterfront estates facing Hillsborough Bay and the channels, condos, and homes rebuilt or renovated with new impact glass after Hurricane Helene's surge in 2024. Films cut heat and glare, block UV and are matched to each home's glass.
Davis Islands
Davis Islands was developed in the 1920s by D.P. Davis, and its Mediterranean Revival homes still define the neighborhood. Today it mixes those historic homes with large contemporary waterfront estates, condos and Tampa General Hospital at the north end.
Hurricane Helene pushed storm surge of up to eight feet onto Davis Islands in 2024. Many homes have since been renovated or rebuilt — often raised, with new impact windows and doors facing the water.
Neighborhoods we cover
The property
Historic homes here often have arched windows, divided lights and older glass. Contemporary rebuilds favor walls of glass facing the bay or the channels.
Waterfront lots face every direction — west toward the Hyde Park shoreline and Bayshore, east and south toward open Hillsborough Bay — so the right film depends on each elevation.
What we solve
New construction often has much more glass than the home it replaced. Film controls the extra heat.
Bay-facing homes take intense reflected glare. Film reduces it while keeping the view.
Film blocks nearly all UV, protecting floors, finishes and art.
Waterfront homes are visible from the water and the street. Light reflective films add daytime privacy.
What we recommend
Businesses
Davis Islands' small village commercial area has restaurants, shops and offices, and we also work on medical and office spaces nearby. Film controls heat and glare and protects interiors.
Before you install
Rebuilt homes typically have laminated impact glass. We match the film to it and check window manufacturer guidance.
Older glass in 1920s homes needs a careful film choice. We assess it on site.
If you're finishing a renovation, film goes on after windows are in and dusty work is done.
